Why Choose Rabbit Holes Counseling?

🧠 Specialists & Always Learning

This isn’t “just a job” to us and we care deeply about providing the best possible care. We keep up on the latest research and education in the areas we’re most passionate in and have all taken at least one (but more likely several) continuing education courses and certifications in the areas we’re most interested in.

🐇 Deep Understanding & Holistic Lens

We aren’t just about surface-level - we believe in diving deep, getting to the roots, and connecting the dots. This has lead us to more deeply understanding the overlaps between ADHD, Autism, Eating Disorders, Trauma, and Chronic Illnesses.

🌱 Client-Centered & Client-Lead

We believe in meeting clients where they are at and empowering them in their treatment so their goals are aligned with their highest values, not ours or someone else’s. We provide guidance, support, and tools, but ultimately you are the one in the driver’s seat.

🪷 Values Driven

We made the decision to work together and form this collaborative team because we are aligned in our values as clinicians when it comes to care for our clients, our communities, and each other.

📍 Convenience & Flexibily

We’ve got in-person options available in Appleton and Green Bay but thanks to telehealth we’re able to support people all over the state of Wisconsin.

"Neurodiversity is not about changing people. It’s about changing society’s perception of people."

FAQs

Do you accept insurance?

We are in network with many common insurances in the state of Wisconsin, however this will vary by provider. We do our best to empower clients to get to know there benefit plans well and always try to do verification of benefits prior to the first session so there are no financial surprises.

Do neurodiverse and neurodivergent mean the same thing?

In short, no. Neurodiversity refers to the normal, biological differences that exist between all humans. Neurodivergent refers to specific types of brains (like ADHD or Autism) that differ from what is considered to be the “norm”. The Neurodiversity movement is a social justice movement, to promote equality of what are considered to be “neurological minorities” — people whose brains work in atypical ways.

What is neurodiverse-affirming care?

Neurodiverse-affirming care simply means that we honor the fact that different humans have different abilities, and that differences are not inherently “deficets” that require “fixing'“. Basically. we reject the idea that we need to strive to fit societal norms and instead embrace all of who we are, and quit trying to force a star to fit into a square hole.
